The vice-president of Amazon fresh, Ajay Kavan, explains that they plan to take on the big supermarkets, however they are not naive to the fact that it will be a challenge: “The bar in grocery retailing is exceptionally high. The supermarkets and grocers are among the very best retailers in the world. We will be very methodical and considered in how we roll this service out further in the UK”. Amazon Fresh’s move to the UK comes after striking a deal with Morrison’s, they will sell products from a variety of brand names like Kellogg’s and Coca-Cola as well as items from smaller local shops.
